New Year's Day 2004. "Hudson & Dylan"

Here's a layout of Hudson and his favorite cousin (second cousin, actually . . . in case you hadn't gathered that). Hudson and Dylan always have such fun together. Dylan is almost two years older than Hudson, but they still get along really well. They don't get to see each other very often since the Goodes live so far away, but the boys are always so excited when they get the chance to spend time together, and they always pick up right where they left off. Just like me and Dylan's mom, Lori!

I have been doing a lot of color-block pages recently (well, if you count two or three over the past six months as "a lot"), but they have been from different time periods, so they're in all different albums. I like the simple beauty of color-block pages.

It's hard to see because of the flash, but on the right side of the lefthand page it says "BEST BUDS", not "BEST BUGS." Also, please notice the ampersand in the title. I sketched that from an example on the Internet, cut it out with an Xacto knife, and painted silver glitter on it. Just tell me it was worth it even if you don't think so.

2005 "Hudson's First Bicycle"

Yeah, yeah, I know, Brandi's right. It's about time I updated my scrapbook blog. Which means it's about time I got around to scrapbooking. I write it on my list of things to do every Friday but evidently that hasn't worked for me since October. Anyway, 4 years after Hudson first learned to ride a bicycle, here's the scrapbook layout about it! One page down, 150+ to go . . .

9.10.2009 "Hud's Big White Truck"

Hud loves his truck. Funny thing is, it hasn't looked this white since the day I took these pictures. Well, he really wanted a brownish truck... now, thanks to our dirt road, he has one!

8.24.2009 "First Day of School 2009"

Hudson is in 4th grade and Stacia is in 1st grade this year. Please notice the super-cool mini license plate next to Hudson's picture on the right-hand page (where he is moping with his head down). Just in case you can't see it, it says "H8N IT"!

Natalie's very first scrapbook page

Natalie, age 3, has decided she needs to join me in my hobby of scrapbooking. Apparently her idea of "tee-apbookin" (as she calls it) is to cut and tear a sheet of 12x12 paper into various pieces and pile them up on top of a couple of photos. She may not quite have the idea, but at least she is easily pleased. For the price of one sheet of paper, she kept herself entertained (and off my lap) while I worked on my own scrapbook.

Thumbsuckers

Finally managed to get around to scrapbooking this week. Maybe I'll actually get back into the habit of scrapbooking every Friday now. I thought I might scrapbook a couple of other layouts too (First day of school and Hud's truck) but my photo printer was out of ink and if I have a backup cartridge somewhere, I can't find it. So I was stuck with scrapbooking only the pictures I had printed previously. This layout is about sisters Stacia, who used to suck her thumb, and Natalie, who still does.

Some of the pictures I took of Natalie on her third birthday.
